BridgifyAsia's three founding directors, Jarius, Sean and Edmund, attended Karya Kreatif Indonesia (KKI) 2026 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) from 20-23 August, on invitation from Nita Anastuty (Anastuty Kusumowardhani), Bank Indonesia's Head of Financial Inclusion and Green Economy Department. The visit strengthens BridgifyAsia's direct relationship with Bank Indonesia as the firm continues to position itself as the compliance and market-entry bridge for foreign manufacturers entering Indonesia.

KKI 2026, now in its latest edition under the theme "Beudaya Meusare-sare" ("empowered, together"), was organised by Bank Indonesia in collaboration with 27 government ministries and agencies and 34 strategic partners. The four-day event brought together more than 550 MSMEs exhibiting on-site and over 1,300 online, across 44 programmes spanning business matching, financing access, digitalisation and export readiness, and closed with IDR 454 billion in business matching transactions recorded across the event.

The BridgifyAsia team toured the exhibition halls and sat in on business matching sessions, observing first-hand how Bank Indonesia structures financing access and export pathways for Indonesian MSMEs, the same ecosystem BridgifyAsia's certification and Importer of Record clients ultimately have to plug into once they enter the Indonesian market. Jarius extended an invite to Yi Ze of Kaimay Trading to join the delegation, widening the circle of Singapore-based business contacts exposed to Bank Indonesia's MSME and export infrastructure.

For BridgifyAsia, the visit carried a personal note as well. KKI 2026 marked Nita's last event before retirement, closing out a tenure that included her role as Bank Indonesia's Chief Representative in Singapore. Sean and Edmund credit much of what BridgifyAsia has learnt about navigating Indonesia's regulatory and financial inclusion landscape to her guidance over that period, and wanted to mark the occasion alongside her.

"Sitting in on Bank Indonesia's own business matching sessions gave us a direct look at how the local financing and export ecosystem actually works. That's exactly the terrain our clients have to navigate once their certifications are in place. And getting to close out Nita's time as Chief Representative in Singapore with her was a moment worth marking. A lot of what we understand about this market, we owe to her guidance." — Jarius, Sean and Edmund, BridgifyAsia

The visit also gave the team a moment with Bank Indonesia's new Governor, Destry Damayanti, who opened KKI 2026. Sean, alongside Jeffry of PT Tanivest, BridgifyAsia's Indonesia partner on the firm's commodity export workstream, joined Nita in greeting the Governor on the exhibition floor, a direct touchpoint at the top of Indonesia's central bank that reinforces the institutional relationships BridgifyAsia is building on both sides of the Singapore-Indonesia corridor.

Beyond the introductions, the scale of KKI 2026 was itself the story. Regional Bank Indonesia representative offices (KPwBI) from West Java, West Kalimantan, West Sumatra and Cirebon anchored dedicated pavilions showcasing wastra, batik and woven textile products alongside leather goods and accessories, while the DKI Jakarta pavilion featured curated fine jewellery from local artisans. The Business Matching stage, set up as a dedicated broadcast and interview area, ran throughout the four days facilitating the financing and export introductions that closed with IDR 454 billion in transactions. The Cangkir Nusantara food and beverage zone and rows of packaged MSME snack and F&B products rounded out a floor that made clear how far Indonesia's MSME export and financing ecosystem has scaled.

What This Means for Foreign Manufacturers Entering Indonesia

A relationship at the Bank Indonesia level, particularly with the department that oversees financial inclusion and green economy policy, gives BridgifyAsia earlier visibility into how the central bank is shaping financing and export access for the MSME sector our clients' distributors and JV partners are drawn from. For foreign brands relying on BridgifyAsia for Halal, SNI, TKDN or IOR facilitation, it means a market entry partner with a direct line into the institutions setting the rules, not just the ones enforcing them.
